The Disability Support Worker is responsible for providing support services aimed at maximizing the living, employment, social and recreational skills of people with a disability.  Community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs.


  • experience with supporting complex clients, including psychosocial disability and behaviours of concern,
  • a commitment to human rights principles,
  • contribute to the day-to-day running of the house,
  • ability to engage clients in a collaborative, positive and respectful manner,
  • experience in supporting people to meet their personal goals,
  • experience working with behaviours of concern and developing strategies to gain the best outcomes for all,
  • experience in providing personal care support,
  • exceptional communication and interpersonal skills,
  • ability to build and manage relationships, and to work within a team environment,
  • creative and critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills,
  • ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines.


  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent or must commence studying for this qualification prior to the completion of the six months’ probation period (preferred).
  • Knowledge and awareness of psychological Disability/ Mental health.
  • NDIS workers Orientation module.


  • Current Driver’s License desired
  • Current Police check Certificate
  • Working with Children Check or NDIS Clearance Certificate
  • Current First aid and CPR Certificate
  • 100 points identification
