Assistance with Travel and Transport
Catching public transport, from appointments, work, or to visit family and friends can be challenging sometimes. Our transport support includes enabling participants to build capacity to travel independently. This includes training to use public transport.
Perfect Care staff are able to increase a participant’s independence through public transport training by helping you to learn public transport routes, bus/train timetables, buying and recharging a MYKI card, as well as how to use it. Our aim is to make your travel journey on public transport as easy and comfortable as possible, so you enjoy your time out and about in the community.
An NDIS plan may also include the use of taxis or other private transport options, where a participant is not able to travel independently. Perfect Care have a range of vehicles, including one that is wheelchair accessible, for our NDIS Participants. This means we are are able to drive you to your appointment or other places in the community and then drive you back again.
We provide a convenient transport service, using our own fleet of vehicles, that can be scheduled in advance, that can take you to:
- Medical Appointments
- Work and Education
- Community and Social Activities
- Shopping
- Recreational Activities
- Therapy or Rehabilitation
- Family Visits and Social Outings
The specific destinations are determined by the participant’s goals and needs as outlined in their NDIS plan, and the funding is designed to support access to necessary services and activities that promote independence and social participation.
In addition, if you are covered by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), we can provide transport services to ensure you reach your medical appointments, rehabilitation sessions, or any other necessary destinations as part of your recovery plan. Our team is here to support your needs and help you access the services essential to your recovery.
